Our boy Gary got taken to “doggie” hospital today….he’s been very unwell the last few days with diarrhea, joint pain and just general lethargy.
One minute he would be a wreck and then he seemed to come good again, but last night his health took a dive and we called in the vet, who came to our house today ~ gave him an examination and stated that he was severely dehydrated, so they took him away and hooked him up to a drip (he has had 2 litres of fluid so far), made sure he had painkillers and antibiotics.
They have taken blood tests, but we won’t get the results of them until tomorrow.
He is staying there overnight (which will be a wee bit stressful for him as he has only stayed away from us with the neighbours who look after him when we go away).
At 14 we are prepared for the worst (well, as prepared as you can be), but I’m hoping that he will bound back like he always does.
Anyway, fingers crossed we will have our beautiful pooch back with us tomorrow afternoon with some news as to what has caused his illness. The Glenelg Veterinary Clinic are doing an excellent job and I thank them very much for their assistance today – especially Amy and Ruth who were so kind to Gary, Caetlyn and myself..
I will keep you all updated on his condition.
Cheers for now,
DARKWENCH
