Hiya Folkeroonies,
Well, I don’t know what happened to September, it seemed to just buzz by!! When I look back and see that the last time I wrote anything was August, my mind just does a flip!!
WHA’ HAPPENED?
So just to bring you up to speed with everything that is in DARKWENCH world today…
I am writing this on Labour Day – 5th October, 2015 – It’s a public holiday here and I am sitting on our front patio enjoying the warm weather….even though it is still technically spring, we have had the last few days in the low 30 degrees…it is glorious, even though we have had to work extra hard in watering our new plants. I have noted however, that it is extremely windy…we don’t have still days anymore, we have ferocious winds!! What is it like in your neck of the woods??
I have had a nice ‘Lie in’ this morning, lovely to de-stress and not have to rush about getting ready for work – even though I was originally up at 6.30am getting Paul’s lunch ready for him – poor lovey had to work today – no rest for the wicked!!! But really, I would rather have him here with us than at that horrible place..
Today I also start my 5 day juice challenge – I am doing the Jason Vale’s 5lbs in 5 days juice challenge, even though for me it isn’t about losing the weight in as much as gaining health. My system has been a bit sluggish lately, and have had quite a bit of discomfort in my small colon, so I thought I would do it to get a boost – and if I happen to lose weight in the meantime, that would be a bonus!!
I have already had my “ginger/apple shot” + my first load of “Turbo with a Kick” juice, and I must say I am feeling quite full. The juice recipe made al lot more than I anticipated…which is good because I was wondering when I saw what I had to do this week, if I would be starving (no solid food, only juices, herbal tea and water)!! Time will tell I guess, and I will keep you updated with all the good and bad points about doing this challenge.
I have a few household chores to do today – like cleaning the aquarium out a bit as it has a few ornaments that the fish have knocked over; picking some blueberries – my blueberry bush is chockers full of berries…YUMMY – and I don’t want them to go to waste, so I might just freeze them for use after my juicy week!!
Work is still full on, still temping at TAFE SA until the end of November, then who knows what I will be doing, but at the moment I will keep plodding until they tell me otherwise…but I may have some other news on the work front soon – so stay tuned!!
+ Caetlyn hasn’t had any nursing shifts – it seems the Government are not too keen on using Agency Nursing staff at the moment…therefore, she doesn’t get any shifts.
+ Paul is working at a shitty job that we all hate, but it was the only thing he could get at the time.
+ We are all waiting for my inheritance to come through (should be November), so that we can use some of it to retrain both Paul and Caetlyn to further their employment prospects.
Gary is still with us, for those of you who don’t know, Gary is our 14 year old AmStaff/Pitbull..he is getting a wee bit old now and some days like today, he has trouble moving is back legs…he sleeps a lot more than he used to and doesn’t play ball very often now….at the moment he is lying here with me on the patio – on his mat, partially in the sun (we have the cafe blinds down which have a sunscreening effect, so he doesn’t get the full sun on him). We take it one day at a time with him and give him lots of cuddles!!
My study is going slowly – still working on allergy testing, iridology and Gerson Therapy – still lots and lots to learn!!
Music wise, we haven’t had much time to play – what with performances in the theatrical company and all…but now I am not involved in any more plays (except stage manager), and Paul + Caetlyn are only doing one play at the moment, we can look at spending some time in the studio nutting out ideas and putting instrument to recording so to speak. Paul started this last night at around 9.00pm and would have loved to have continued into the wee hours like he used to…if he didn’t have to get up for darn work!!
I have been a bad friend to those who email me regularly too….but as they know, I don’t get round to spending a lot of time on my computer these days (when you spend all day looking at a computer, the last thing you want to do is come home and get stuck into another one).
So I do apologise to any that are expecting emails from me…I will get around to it soon!!
And I must sincerely apologise to my lovely friend JoJo – I was meant to send her birthday present to her in MAY….and I still haven’t gotten around to it…talk about slack…but in the meantime I have added to it so maybe it will be a combined birthday/chrimbo pressie.
Honestly, I don’t know where the time goes….the older I get the more time flies by…I would dearly love it to slow down again, this fast paced society is not for me!!
Anyway, I have chores to do so I will catch you all another time (hopefully sooner than another month!!)
Oh BTW – do you like my new colour scheme and picture? I thought it looked more SUMMER-Y!!
