Greetings Friends,
I know I haven’t been very “regular” in posting blogs for the last couple of months, mainly because I have been ultra busy ~ what with working full time, performing in pantomimes and theatrical plays, study, as well as keeping the house up to speed (housework) and trying to stay healthy.
Well, here I sit wrapped up warm in bed (as it is a rainy and cold winter’s day), eating rockmelon (I have already had 1 banana and a carrot/apple/beetroot juice this morning), figuring out what to tell you all…
I have caught a head cold, have had it for about a week now. I had to take a couple of days off of work with it, so I am not happy about that. “But what about all the healthy food you eat, I thought you wouldn’t catch illnesses” I hear you say….Well…..you are right, if I had stuck to my healthy eating ways I probably wouldn’t have picked this up…but I have been very slack and even gone back to my “old ways” of eating…like:
Cooked foods for 2 or more meals a day (It’s winter and I don’t like cold foods when I am cold – but cooked foods slow me down and make me tired).
Sugary Items – store bought chocolate bars and Oreo cookies (even though Oreo cookies are vegan, it doesn’t mean I should be consuming them by the boxfulls).
Junk Food – YES – takeaway foods like KFC, Fish & Chips, Barnacle Bills, Pizza….(Yes I know that they are not vegan…as I said, I have been extremely naughty in going back to my old ways).
“But WHY”? I hear you ask again…
TIME my dear friends, TIME.
Because I have had SO much to do I ran out of the precious ingredient of TIME (& I don’t mean the herb either!!)
I have been running around like a headless chook for so long that the thought of preparing nutritious meals was overbearing….so we turned to junk.
Now all the family have had colds/viruses etc., and at first I didn’t get them, but now it has hit me!!
So it’s another wakeup call to me….Get your nutrients in or you are going to be sick!!
A timely reminder from Mother Nature.
Therefore, I have stopped being too heavily involved with the theatrical company as it was making me too tired, and I have returned to juicing every morning for the last few days, and eating healthy foods – making sure I have lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, mainly raw for 2 meals and then cooked for the evening meal. Hopefully I will be over this cold very soon…(mind you, the weather does not make want to get out of bed any time soon)..
But I have to as I have to go pick up our car which was being serviced today…..so I hope to do a few more posts in the future to keep you up to speed!!
